Great Real Estate Deal -- Or Is It?

I found a great house in a great neighborhood(historical district, so there won't be any factories, etc...built nearby). The price was good to begin with and was just reduced. So why has this house been on the market three years? Liens? Barking dogs? Crazy neighbors? Divorce settlement? What?
