Is there any possibility of starting a civil case over a job being miss-advertised? UK?

Basically, a job advertised as high salary. You attend interview, they lead you on further to believe it is salary based, you go the next day to a day on job interview only to find out, after wasting 10 hours of your valuable time, that it is actually commission based work with no fixed salary????

This has happened to my mother, and I want to know what we can do about it?
