Can I get help/information about investing?

i would like to know some info about investing: what are the top earning companies? what are the best companies to buy stocks from? is buying a stock and investing different? also for example i buy stocks for $5000... how much i would earn (my 5000 + ?) ... last question: so lets say i bought stocks, and i would like to sell them. can i sell them at anytime i want? like i want to sell them in a particular day/hour/minute... is it guaranteed that i will sell my stocks? or will it be postponed for sometime? '
