Understanding the Language of Mortgage Lenders

If you are a first time home buyer, the process of obtaining a loan and actually purchasing a home can seem daunting and confusing. It’s important to understand the language of Baton Rouge mortgage lenders so that you will not make mistakes based on misunderstandings. Here are some basic terms to learn before you begin the house hunt. The better educated you are going in, the less likely you will be to suffer disappointment or make a costly mistake.

      Pre-Qualifying and Pre-Approval

There’s a world of difference between pre-qualifying for a loan and being pre-approved. They are not terms that can be used interchangeably, as they apply to different steps in the mortgage loan process. Pre-qualifying for a loan means that you have asked a lender what amount of a mortgage you would likely be approved for based on a few pieces of financial information that you provide. (more…)

The San Jose home loan is an amazing thing because it allows you to become a homeowner at a reasonable price. You can become a first-time owner with a starter, move into the house of your dreams, build your credit with monthly payments, and enjoy an easy process when you later sell your home. If you have a home loan and are interested in refinancing, consider the points below that will help you enjoy the process.

      Processing Can be Quick

Some people find that the home loan process is much too slow. Especially when you’re looking to refinance before more and more monthly payments come in, you are looking for a process that can help you quickly. Mortgage Loans Are a Good Way to Pay for Your Dream Home

The day you have been dreaming of has finally arrived. You have found the perfect home in Sacramento, California and you are ready to buy it and start a new chapter of your life. How do you pay for the house, though? You are probably like the majority of people who have to figure out how to pay for their dream home without winning the lottery. It might be that your only option is to find a company that offers Sacramento mortgage loans so you can actually buy your home.

What You Need to Know to Get a Loan

When you go to apply for a loan, the loan officer is going to look at your credit score and your credit report. If you have made some bad financial moves, even if you were just a young teenager, you might not get the loan and your dream home will be sold to someone else. (more…)

How the Housing Market Affects Interest Rates

You have heard the radio and television ads promoting mortgage rates in Baton Rouge at all-time lows. You have been beckoned to refinance now! But, how true are these statements? Rates are lower than a decade ago, but did you know that while interest rates may be a blessing for some buyers, they can be a curse for others? Here’s a little lesson in how interest rates work in regards to the housing market.

      Rates Hikes Side-Effects of Recovery

How many of you have been shopping and stumbled upon a surprise sale? You weren’t expecting to see a stainless steel blender on clearance and you don’t really need it, but if it is on sale, why not buy it? The more money being pumped into the housing means more money being spent in the overall economy. That’s a good thing, right? You did a good deed by purchasing that blender.  However, a good economy means rising interest rates and rising home values. This may not be such a good combination for home seekers looking to score a deal. (more…)

Lawn Signs Designate the Lords of the High School

High school sports are a sacred institution- one that many towns take very, very seriously. And if these sports are sacred, football is the holy of holies. Their front yards are adorned with lawn signs trumpeting their name, number and the position they play.

They wear their jerseys to class on game days as if to remind everyone of the truly serious matter of the day- not the academics, but the body-crushing game that will be taking place once this other stuff is out of the way. Tales of players receiving favors and special treatment from faculty, staff, and fellow students are nothing new, and stories of players who can’t do even rudimentary work receiving passing grades so they can continue to bring the school glory on the field are so commonplace they rarely even raise an eyebrow anymore. Like it or not, this is the way it has always been. (more…)
